A family-run restaurant in Tipperary, Mother Hubbard’s, have donated €1,000 to the development of Fethard Town Park – an all-inclusive sports complex committed to empowering the local community through health and wellbeing. As part of the Healthy Ireland Network, Fethard Town Park project is committed to serving the needs of an entire community as a place of both activity and leisure.
Once completed, the 26-acre park will be home to Fethard’s Athletics and Rugby teams – Fethard GAA and Fethard RFC. The site will be used by local primary & secondary schools, youth groups and active elderly groups as a venue for sport, wellness activities and learning. On top of the numerous sports facilities being constructed, the park will also contain a sensory garden and acres of open parkland.
The project’s coordinators have said ‘we were delighted to receive a donation of €1,000 from Mother Hubbard’s. Fethard Town Park is an example of how health and wellbeing can be promoted and developed when an engaged community is supported by local enterprise, local authority and funding bodies’.
